Max School Bus is the first to integrate the DonorsChoose.org plug-in, which helps to support teachers’ classroom projects.

We’re proud to announce that Max School Bus is the first blog to sign up and feature the DonorsChoose.org plug-in. If you’re not familiar with plug-ins, this is a small application that we integrate to add functionality to the blog. In this case, the plug-in generates a list of “Possibly Related Classroom Projects” at the bottom of each post, based on the content of the post. For example, this is what you’ll find today at the bottom of Can We Medicate Our Way Out of Obesity?

These links will take you directly to a classroom project that is looking for support, and the links will be generated based on the most up-to-date projects no matter when you read a post. One of them takes you to Teens Get Healthy, where a school nurse in a low-income area is seeking $999 to fund a Jazzercise program.
I am obtaining my certification in Youth Jazzercise and want to offer a free Jazzercise program after school for students to come and get an intense workout. This program would be open to all students and may be the only opportunity some of them have to get moving. I will be offering this program on the days that there is a late bus available so that no student is left out because of transportation or cost issues.
The plug-in was developed by Social Actions, which largely serves to help nonprofits better utilize web technologies to fulfill their missions.
“Possibly Related Classroom Projects” enables you to share relevant classroom projects from DonorsChoose.org based on the content of your posts.
DonorsChoose.org is an online community devoted to helping teachers fund classroom projects that will help their students learn and succeed. Teachers propose projects, which anyone can then choose to help fund and bring to life. DonorsChoose.org has over 14,000 active proposals. “Possibly Related Classroom Projects” makes it super easy to connect your readers to relevant classroom projects in need of help.

Thanks, I didn’t know about DonorsChoose nor SocialActions. They’re really interesting companies.
Companies like these will totally disrupt old institutions.
